Requirements:
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Cerification REQUIRED!
Optional: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (or higher). - Ability to physically support and move swimmers of varying size and physical abilities.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- You must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check or possess a Criminal Record Exemption (we care a great deal about our clients safety and yours).
- Effective oral and written communication skills sufficient to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before small groups of participants or employees of 805LifeGuard.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. We will train you on this if need be.
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions in a safety sensitive capacity. Hey that’s the job. But if you need additional training above and beyond your Red Cross Life Guard Training, we will provide that free of cost to you. Our clients safety, and your safety is ALWAYS our #1 Priority!
- Active and Current Lifeguard Red Cross Certified Card is required for this position.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You (the Lifeguard) must be able to perform this job safely, without endangering the health or safety of him/herself or others. (We will provide additional training to you if needed).
- Communication – You can communicate well in English (written and verbal). You will need to have good listening skills (in English) to perform your duties with our clients. Other language skills are a BIG plus! Especially Spanish and Mandarin!
- Decision Making – You have to be able to reach decisions, and take a thoughtful approach when considering options, seek input from others, and make difficult decisions when such occasion arrises.
- Dependability – You are able to meet deadlines, works independently, be accountable, maintains focus, be punctual, and maintain a good attendance record. This is how we roll at 805LifeGuard!
- Job Knowledge – This is IMPORTANT! You have to able to understand the facets of the job, and be aware of the duties and responsibilities of each event you will be working. You will have the ability to keep your job knowledge current. (We will provide additional training to you if needed).
- Leadership – You are willing to provide strong leadership, and set a good example ALWAYS! We will train you to be a good motivator & encourager. We want you to be successful, and be the face of our organization.
